Chapter Two

In this week's reading, i found it intersting how we have come so far with technology these days. Our means of communication with others all the way across the world, and even with our scientists in outer space is incredible. The communications network that has been created was set to share data, information, software, and hardware through a collection of computers and other specialized equipment. All of the components of the communications network have certain jobs that help the network to run: the two computers are used to send and receive data, the communications devices send and receive data, and a communications channel is what the data is sent through.
Although i couldnt list and describe them all, there are so many more terms and components to the communications network that help to run the program. But the communications network was designed because when the computers were first invented, they were stand-alone devices and they only operated on their own. This program made it possible for communication to be available through emails, text messages from phones, and more.
In this weeks reading, i also learned that the www sites are generated off of the name of the company or label that wants to make a page and then a numeric address and domain name are created. I found it necessary for me to read chapter two because i have found out why the addresses use .k12 or .edu, which is because the users or information on the websites are school-related. I am an elementary education major and i feel that i can use all of the knowledge that i can get about computers because children are full of questions and i need to be prepared with some answers for the future.
